How To Prepare For Your FIRST AIR FORCE PT TEST

What’s going on, y’all? I’ll be showing y’all how to prepare yourself for your first air force PT test in this video. So basically, if you join the military, you join the air force, and you worried about your first PT test or whatever, and you don’t think you’re ready. I’ll be showing y’all how to get prepared for that. I’ll be showing. I’ll be telling y’all what I did to get ready for that. So basically, there’s only three things you gotta focus on. Your push ups, your sit ups and your running.

That’s it.

You don’t got to focus on nothing else. You don’t got to be benching. You don’t got to be doing pull ups. Okay, technically, take that back. You got to be doing pull ups because you also do pull ups not during the test, but throughout boot camp. You do pull up periodically. Push ups, sit ups, and running.

That’s it.

Nothing else. Push ups, sit ups, running. So basically what I did, I joined in December. So I say, like, two months before is when I really started getting ready. So basically, very simple thing I did routine thing every day. 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, and a two mile run. That’s it. That’s all I did to get ready. Every single day from October to December.

That’s it.

That’s all you got to do. So for the scores. So me, this is for all males under the age of 25. If you’re over 25, this does not apply for you. Me, I’m 19 years old, but when I joined, I was 18 years old. So all this still applied for me. How the scoring works, it goes by points. I’m going to put a screenshot on the screen for you all. So you all can look at that and see what I mean. So it goes by points. So the minimum points you need to get to pass a PT test is a 75 and an excellent score is 90, 90 or above. Ignore all the hammer shuttles, ignore all the. Because I know they talk about push ups where you go out, your arms go out, and you go back up like that. Those don’t apply in boot camp. You can only do normal push ups. You can only do normal sit ups, and you can only do a normal run. Everything else does not apply.

That’s it.

That’s all you can do. There’s no alternates you can do. So for the scores for males under the age of 25, the fastest score you can get is anything faster than a 912. And you obviously get a maximum of 60 points from that. So the worst score you can get is a 1550 with passing and the fastest score you can get is a 912, which you get maximum points for doing that.

One of the most common mistakes.

Yeah, that’s for the run. So next we’re going to be going for the push ups and also these sit ups. So like I said earlier, ignore the two hand release push ups, ignore the cross, reverse lunge, whatever crunch, whatever it says, ignore the forearm plank because you can’t do any of that in boot camp. We’re only focusing on boot camp in this video. We’re not talking about other Air Force PT tests. So to get minimum points, you only get one point. If you do 30 push ups, that’s it. So you better be doing more than 30 push ups. And basically it’s a 1 minute push ups to see how many you can do in that minute. So if you give below 30, you fail, you don’t get any points, you get none, you get zero. So make sure you’re ready for the 1 minute push ups. The maximum score you can get is 20 and that’s 60. That’s anything above 67 push ups or above. To get 20 points, the maximum amount of points, the sit ups, lowest you can get, 39. Highest you can get for maximum points is 58. So anything 58, 58 or above and then that’s going to be it for the push ups and the sit ups.

So yeah, the lowest amount of sit ups you can get is 39 and that only gives you literally three points. You’re going to fail with that. And the highest amount of pushups you can get. How many setups you can get is anything above 58 push ups, 100 sit ups and a two mile run every day and you’re going to be good. You probably only got to do it for two months. You probably only got to do it for like three weeks and you’re still going to be good. I’m not saying everybody, I’m just saying people who probably play sports through high school and things of that nature. So if you’ve been in shape before, then you probably got to do it for a few weeks or so. But if you haven’t been doing nothing for the past five years of your life or whatever, not been active in anything, then you probably got to start this a few months before just to be safe. You can’t just go into boot camp with a stomach, bro. I’m sorry. You can’t do it. You got to get rid of it. You need to go. It’s got to go.

So basically, simple as this. 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, and two mile run every single day. You probably could take one rest day, I don’t care, throughout your week, whatever, but every single day to see best results. So when I came through boot camp, I was ready. PT test, came around, took the PT test, I got a 90. I think I got a 95. Wait. It’s been so long. Subway boot camp. So my first PT test, I finished with my first PT test, I got a 95. So that was my coming from home, getting there. I think you take it after your first two weeks of being there. I’m not sure I forgot. It’s been a while. My first one, I got 95. And then remember, while you’re in boot camp, you’re also going to be doing some exercise. They’re going to have you running and all that. So that’s going to even get you more in shape. So my second one I took, I got 100. So basically, yeah, I’m telling you, you all can do it, bro. You all just got to come and prepare. Coming ready. And you all can do it.

So just do what I did. 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, and a two mile run every single day. I did that for two months and it got me in pretty good shape. I feel like it’s going to get you on. You all in good shape, too, so just do that.

So, yeah.
