Now, these are going to be completely subjective to my opinion because there are a lot of factors that can go into what makes a place your favorite. I’m just picking places that I think would be really awesome to travel to.
5. RAF Lakenheath (England, UK)
Number five is going to be RAF Lakenheath, which is in England, in the UK. You can travel to London, which is really awesome. You can also travel to Scotland and Wales, and it’s pretty close to Ireland, which is somewhere that I have always wanted to go. Plus, there are castle ruins, so why not?
4. Ramstein Air Base (Germany)
Number four is going to be Ramstein Air Base, which is in Germany. The landscape looks absolutely beautiful there. There are so many castles, and you can easily travel to other countries. France is literally right next door, so you can take a four-hour train ride and go visit Paris.
3. Andersen Air Force Base (Guam)
Number three would be Andersen Air Force Base, which is on the island of Guam.
I personally love the tropical weather and the beaches, so I absolutely would take the island life. I have had a lot of friends who have been stationed in Guam, and they have absolutely loved it. So I think it would be a dream to travel there.
2. Kadena Air Base (Okinawa, Japan)
Now, keeping with the island theme, number two is going to be Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.
I am a little bit biased because my husband and I were actually stationed there when he was in the Air Force, and we loved it so much. Okinawa is a gorgeous tropical island. The culture there and the people are so amazing. We loved going to the beaches and adventuring all the time.
We even took the opportunity to travel to other Asian countries like Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia. So we definitely would go back, and I would recommend it to anybody.
1. Aviano Air Base (Italy)
My number one overseas Air Force base location is going to be Aviano Air Base in Italy.
This is a place that I have always wanted to travel to ever since before I left Ohio. They have beautiful beaches, stunning architecture, and so much history. Unfortunately, I still haven’t been there yet, but I will make it there one day.
Because it’s been the number one place I’ve always wanted to travel to, that is why it is number one on my list of overseas Air Force bases.
I would love to hear from you all down below. Let me know what you think your top overseas Air Force bases are, or if you have been to any of them, share your experience in the comments. That way, we can help others know what it’s going to be like if they ever have the chance to go there.
